Bayer Leverkusen keeper Patrick Pentz was quizzed over reported interest from Celtic in the Austrian press - and admitted his future is out of his own hands.

Shotstopper Pentz is currently starring on loan at Brondby and has been linked with a move to Parkhead as a potential replacement for the retiring Joe Hart. He has impressed this season and the likes of Southampton and PSV have also been linked with a summer move. But the 27-year-old only joined Leverkusen in January 2023 and still has a year to run on his contract.

Austrian outlet Salzburger Nachrichten picked up on the reported interest from Celtic on Monday and Pentz was asked directly about the Hoops and PSV. But he said his focus isn't going beyond Brondby's title challenge - with his longer-term future with the Bundesliga champions out of his own hands.

He said: “I get asked this question in interviews every week. My contract at Leverkusen runs until summer 2025, so I can’t decide entirely on my own what happens next. My full focus is currently on the title fight and I will give everything for the club until the end. I feel very comfortable in Copenhagen: the club, the city and the people just suit me perfectly.”
