Fox has thus far only ordered a pilot script, to be penned by 90210 (the CW reboot) and Reign scribe Lara Olsen.
In the new iteration, “Daring ocean rescues, pristine beaches, and iconic red bathing suits are back, along with a whole new generation of Baywatch lifeguards, who navigate complicated, messy personal lives in this action-packed reboot that demonstrates there’s the family you’re born into and the family you find,” per the project’s official description.
Olsen, whose TV credits also include CBS’ Blood & Treasure and ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Private Practice, serves as an EP alongside OG Baywatch creators Michael Berk, Greg Bonann and Doug Schwartz.
