The BBC's brand new dance show The Greatest Dancer has finally landed an air date – and it's going head-to-head with another talent show.

The Beeb have revealed that the new Simon Cowell series will premiere on Saturday, January 5 on BBC One at 8pm.

This clashes directly with the return of The Voice UK, which will begin on ITV at exactly the same time. Do we smell a new rivalry?

The Greatest Dancer marks Cowell's first collaboration with the BBC, and will feature Cheryl, Strictly Come Dancing's Oti Mabuse and Glee star Matthew Morrison.

Britain's Got Talent's Alesha Dixon and Jordan Banjo will present the show, which – as the title suggests – aims to uncover the UK's best dancer.

It will showcase dances from across the spectrum, including Bollywood, ballet, jazz, jive, tap and tango, with the winner going on to bag £50,000 and a spot as a special guest on Strictly.
