BBC Beyond Paradise teases first look before Humphrey makes big decision in season finale

BBC's Beyond Paradise has teased a dramatic series finale, with Humphrey Goodman, played by Kris Marshall, facing a pivotal moment.

As the final episode approaches, viewers have been given a sneak peek into what to expect as Humphrey Goodman and Martha Lloyd, portrayed by Sally Bretton, are on the brink of their wedding day.

Anne Lloyd, dealing with her own recent split, is determined to pour her efforts into ensuring her daughter's wedding is perfect.

An exclusive clip released by the Mirror shows Margot, Esther, and Kelby reviewing the Station Review they've sent to headquarters.

The team is anxious about the potential closure of their local Shipton Abbott police station, which could result in them losing their jobs or being reassigned, the Mirror reports.

The colleagues also rib Kelby about his infatuation with the Chief Superintendent. Meanwhile, Humphrey is busy with wedding plans to marry Martha.

However, with a crime disrupting the peace, it remains to be seen if the couple's nuptials will go off without a hitch.

Kris Marshall, who brings Humphrey to life, commented on the precarious future of the Shipton Abbott station, saying: "As a small fishing village police station house, they are under the same constraints as many other branches where people feel the world has moved on and everything can be done via computer and CCTV."

"So they're under those pressures, which I find amazing because they have a 100% success rate when it comes to solving crimes!

"But CSI Woods is a strong, incredibly driven character which is why she is Humphrey's boss and the head of the whole division. There's a ruthlessness to her that poses a challenge to the quirky little station house."

He continued: "It's a David and Goliath story, which everyone loves and, in this case, David's an extremely efficient station house that has its own unique way of working.

"So, let's hope they survive otherwise we won't have another series!"

Zahra Ahmadi, who portrays DS Esther Williams, has been an instrumental figure in the show, where viewers have seen significant depth in her mother-daughter relationship.

"I think Esther's very by-the-book, she really believes in the rule of law because she's a part of the community she polices, and that community is quite small.

"So, there is never more than six degrees of separation between her and them. She does exhibit a level of empathy and sympathy as she personally knows the community she is policing.

"Although Esther exhibits a nurturing, maternal instinct, it can at times be obscured by 'no, this is what the law says', but I hope there is some balance."
