Even the professionals make mistake sometimes, and you bet that eagle-eyed viewers on Twitter will be there to pick up on them.

Today's (February 22) BBC Breakfast hosted a segment on Serco, a firm that provides public services through outsourcing and has contracts with the Ministry of Justice, provides the Santander cycles in London and does shed loads more.

As the screen listed some of Serco's service behind business presenter Ben Thompson, viewers spotted a pretty big spelling error.

And they were not happy about it.

You get the point.

Anyway, you can see why the Beeb's graphic person made the mistake: you're talking about a Royal Air Force base, so 'Flyingdales' just sounds right. Really, it's the people who named Fylingdales who missed a trick.

Plus the segment was most likely being put together in the early hours of the morning, so let's cut them some slack.

ALSO we know that the RAF base is called Flyingdales Fylingdales because it was originally going to be built within the parish, until it ended up being constructed at nearby Snod Hill instead.

BBC Breakfast airs every day from 6am on BBC One and the BBC News Channel.
