On BBC Breakfast, Carol Kirkwood was candid with Naga Munchetty on-air as she admitted she was "shaking".

The seasoned 62 year old weather presenter joined her colleagues Naga and Charlie Stayt via a large screen in the studio this Thursday. The conversation had initially been about a child chess prodigy before shifting to the day's weather forecast.

Naga, 49, still seemed intrigued by the game of chess, drawing a parallel with Carol's forecasting duties. She said: "Do you know that I often think that for Carol, there's a game of chess played here every day, it's like you're always trying to anticipate the next move, aren't you Carol?"

Carol, appearing somewhat fatigued, agreed: "Yes, trying to work out what's going to come my way Naga."

Naga found amusement in the situation, replying: "Exactly, always slightly unnerving, which is quite enjoyable sometimes."

"I'm standing here shaking in my shoes," Carol joked. Naga quickly retorted: "No you're not!" leading to an exchange of awkward laughter between them, reports the Mirror.

As they returned to the topic of weather, Naga, who also presents on Radio 5 Live, smoothly continued the broadcast, asking: "Gorgeous day behind you, from that picture but a mixed picture, is that fair?"

Carol, eager to proceed with her report, confirmed "absolutely, right" and went on to give the weather outlook.

It comes after it was confirmed on Wednesday that the BBC has scheduled to cancel several shows on Friday, July 5.

The BBC is set for a major reshuffle to accommodate election coverage, with nearly all its morning and daytime programmes being dropped.

Usually, Jon Kay and Sally Nugent kick-start the day with BBC Breakfast news coverage from 6am before passing the baton to BBC Morning Live's Gethin Jones, Helen Skelton and Michelle Ackerley. However, according to the Radio Times television guide, none of the usual morning favourites will feature in the line-up.
