BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty caused a stir with an cheeky joke about weather presenter Carol Kirkwood's outfit during yesterday's show (Thursday, June 27). As they prepared for the weather segment, Naga playfully inquired: "Carol, have you ever played that game where you lie down and look at the clouds and you see what the shapes are?"

Initially oblivious to the fact that Naga was hinting at her cloud-print dress, Carol replied with enthusiasm: "Yes, you often see faces or animals," reports the Mirror.

Naga then admitted: "Yes, well, I did listen to some of what you are saying but I was playing that game with your dress."

This unexpected comment took Carol by surprise, prompting her to laugh and retort: "I dread to think what you saw, Naga..." Naga, keeping up the banter, promised to disclose her observations later, adding: "I am going to look throughout the day and find all the shapes."

Carol, trying to keep the mood light, "thanked" Naga, who responded with a light hearted: "My pleasure."

The exchange caught the attention of viewers, leading to mixed reactions on social media. One viewer, taking to X, previously known as Twitter, commented: "#bbcbreakfast Shut up Naga... The banter is neither funny nor clever."

Another audience member shared their unease, tweeting: "Of [redacted] Naga's banter with Carol? Cringe #bbcbreakfast."

Later in the show, Carol was left blushing when BBC Breakfast's sports presenter Mike Bushell made a tongue-in-cheek comment about spending a night with her in a tent. With Wimbledon on the horizon, Mike revealed his intention to camp out to secure a good spot, cheekily including Carol in his overnight plans.

He referred to staying in a three-man tent and when Naga probed about his possible tennis partner, he quipped: "No one, I mean Carol is welcome to come and join me," prompting an excited reply from Naga, "Oh she'd love that! ".

Charlie Stayt chimed in, teasing: "I think the offer's on the table. Carol. Are you there? Is it a yes or a no? " The camera then switched to Carol, who was seen blushing and chuckling, seemingly caught "put on the spot".
