BBC crowns winner of Sports Personality of the Year 2023
The BBC has crowned its Sports Personality of the Year for 2023.
At the ceremony — which was broadcast live from MediaCityUK in Salford, England, on December 19 — Manchester United Women's goalkeeper Mary Earps was crowned this year's winner.
Earps saved a penalty during England's Women's World Cup final against Spain and received the Golden Glove award for best goalkeeper of the tournament.
Accepting the award, Earps said: "Thank you so much to my teammates and coaches, I wouldn't be here without you all." She then joked: "I'm going to get off before I get the boot from Gary [Lineker]."
