BBC election debate tonight being held at Nottingham Trent University

The final head-to-head debate between Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer in the 2024 general election campaign will take place at Nottingham Trent University. The institution has announced that the live BBC event will take place on the City Campus in NTU's Newton and Arkwright buildings.

Hosted by Mishal Husain, the programme will be recorded in front of a live audience who will be posing questions to the Conservative and Labour leaders. The debate is being broadcast live on BBC1 between 8.15pm and 9.30pm.

Up to 150 journalists from national and regional outlets will be attending, with Nottinghamshire Live bringing you behind-the-scenes coverage from the "spin room" during the debate. NTU students have also been supporting the BBC throughout the day as runners, with BBC News programmes including Newsnight and the News at Six being broadcast live from NTU.

The first debate between Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer was broadcast on ITV and held in Salford. The two leaders also took part in an audience questions-based programme for Sky News in Grimsby.
