During a recent episode of BBC's Escape to the Country, which aired on Friday afternoon, property seeker Joey was visibly overwhelmed by the prospect of leaving her one-bedroom flat near an airport for the peaceful countryside. From the outset it was clear that Joey was deeply moved by the thought of finding her own slice of serenity.

Her friend Sandra noted her emotional state, saying: "You've been dreaming about this for a long time but it's suddenly happening, have you had a chance to think what you're going to be like living here?"

Joey's emotions were palpable as she struggled to contain her tears, a reaction that Sandra suggested was typical for her. The show's host Alistair Appleton braced himself for what looked to be a demanding search, especially upon discovering that Joey was new to the world of house hunting.

Upon viewing the first property, Joey was left speechless and tearful, immediately feeling a connection and acknowledging her instant liking for the place, reports the Mirror. Her emotional journey continued inside the home, where she tearfully told the BBC presenters that it was precisely what she had envisioned.

Before moving on to the next property, Alistair inquired: "Do you think Wiltshire is the place?" Joey confidently replied: "I think so, definitely. What you've shown me, is just everything that I'm looking for."

Alistair couldn't help but let out a chuckle as the buyer began to get teary-eyed before they'd even set foot in the next property. Joey added: "I know! It's all gone horribly wrong!" When asked if she was holding back, the buyer confessed that indeed she was.

Joey went on to describe how her initial infatuation with a property waned after taking a more critical look However, it was then Joey's turn to become tearful, as she said with a laugh: "I must be the worst person for crying!"

As the show came to a close Joey disclosed that she wasn't prepared to settle on any of the homes Alistair had presented, despite the rollercoaster of emotions experienced during their viewings. She shared: "I've never been through anything like this before, it's the first time I've ever seen any properties. Each property has had something different. They've all given me something to ponder."

In conclusion, Alistair informed the audience that Joey's journey to find her ideal home would continue, with her main focus now being to locate the perfect garden. Escape to the Country can be streamed on BBC iPlayer. For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter.
