BBC Morning Live viewers react as Jason Manford replaces Gethin Jones

BBC Morning Live viewers have shared their reactions following Jason Manford's first time presenting the popular breakfast show. The comedian stepped in alongside Gaby Roslin on Friday, June 28, filling in for regular host Gethin Jones.

Before taking up the role, Jason exchanged warm words with Gethin, who sent him a supportive message. In response, Jason assured him he was "keeping his seat warm" during his absence.

Expressing his excitement about joining the Morning Live team, Jason also playfully cautioned that he might "bring a little chaos" to the set.

After his appearance, audiences flocked to social media platforms to comment on Jason's presenting debut.

On X, previously known as Twitter, @MichelleBoudin_ commented: "'Crikey I've got a stitch' .. Blumming love you @JasonManford. Strictly will be on the phone soon.", reports the Express.

@boodlesjw couldn't contain their amusement, posting: "@JasonManford. You've just made my morning doing that dancing. I was crying with laughter at your facial expressions."

@Carolin44283794 praised Jason, saying: "You did really well," while @JanetCu36864508 complimented: "@JasonManford my goodness you look [fire emoji] this morning. You're an absolute natural - you look very comfortable presenting."

And @leahhmariee93 shared their delight: "Stunning to wake up to @JasonManford on my TV," adding, "There's definitely perks to falling asleep at 3am with the TV still on. Also, pasta at not even 10.30am is absolutely how I want to live."

After the BBC revealed Jason's upcoming appearance, the 43-year-old comedian expressed his enthusiasm: "I'm delighted to have been asked to guest co-host Morning Live this week. I always love supporting a Manchester-based show and every time I've been on as a guest, the team has always been a real pleasure to work with."

He further commented: "I'm looking forward to bringing a little chaos to the sofa once we go live! " Fans of Jason will be pleased to hear that the BBC has confirmed his return for another stint on Wednesday, July 3, where he will join Helen Skelton in presenting the show.

In the meantime, Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton are set to resume their regular hosting duties on the renowned sofa come Monday, July 1.
