Gethin Jones found himself surprised as he took a break from filming BBC’s Morning Live. The Welsh star, 46, hosted Tuesday's show with Helen Skelton and as ever the pair delved into some of the country’s biggest national talking points.

After the episode Gethin took to Instagram to share something that happened during filming of that day’s episode. He posted a picture of himself with three students who had been kind enough to grab him a coffee while he was working.

“MA drama production students saw us filming for @bbcmorninglive and decided to bring us some coffee! Honestly, how nice!” Gethin captioned the post.

This week has not been short of surprises for the Cardiff-born presenter who revealed that he’d got a tattoo during Monday’s episode. Gethin shared a snap of his forearm with the words: "S.D. 40," inked on it. "Seemed like a good idea at the time..."

Co-presenter Sara Davies shared the picture on her own Story and wrote: "When someone loves you enough to tattoo you on their arm... (watch the next story for some context...)"

Gethin also shared a hilarious video of him wearing a crazy tiger shirt and enormous flower sunglasses from his fellow broadcaster's 40th birthday celebrations while he enjoyed a bumper car ride with Sara, who had blue glitter on her face. Sara’s birthday bash was planned by Chantelle Walsh, the winner of the Ultimate Wedding Planner show, which she judged last year.

Sara said of her party: “I wanted a festival – and my word did they deliver! I have ridiculously high standards (for everything in my life) but they blew away even my every expectation! It was an incredibly special evening for me – I am a firm believer in the notion that you are a product of the people you surround yourself with – and so I wanted to get all those special people in my life together in one room to celebrate what we’ve collectively achieved for me through my third decade, and I wanted everyone to go home and say it was the best party they’d ever been to! (And they did!)”
