Morning Live's Gethin Jones says 'it seemed like a good idea' as he hints at 'tattoo' of co-star

Gethin Jones has hinted that he got a tattoo of his BBC Morning Live co-star's initials to mark her 40th birthday bash over the weekend. The Welsh presenter attended Dragons' Den favourite Sara Davies' party alongside the likes of Katya Jones, John Whaite, Dan Walker, Fred Siriex, Janette Manrara and Aljaž Škorjanec.

Called Sara's FortyFest, the festival-type celebrations looked incredible and included a glitter bar, a fun zone, a main event section with bar and dancing, a photobooth for guests to strike a pose, sweet and dessert bars, and a place to cosy up by an open fire. But Gethin has hinted he might have some regrets after attending the event.

Taking to his Instagram Story ahead of his Morning Live gig on Monday, April 29. the 46-year-old shared a snap of his forearm with the words: "S.D. 40," inked on it.

"Seemed like a good idea at the time..." Gethin captioned the image. Sara shared the picture on her own Story and wrote: "When someone loves you enough to tattoo you on their arm... (watch the next story for some context...)

In the next clip, Gethin was at the bar with Strictly star Katya as he showed Sara his arm, who could be heard saying: "Look what my real friends do, I mean..."

Gethin also shared a hilarious video from the event enjoying a bumper car ride with Sara. In the video, Gethin is wearing a loud shirt and a pair of flower sunglasses, while Sara sits next to him with blue glitter on her face.

The Welsh star captioned the snap: "I’ll post some nice pics later. But this sums up @saradaviescc 40th bday. I flippin love her. (Terrible driver)."

Sara revealed that her birthday bash was planned by the Ultimate Wedding Planner show winner Chantelle Walsh, a show that she judged last year. The television personality said of the event: "I wanted a festival - and my word did they deliver! I have ridiculously high standards (for everything in my life) but they blew away even my every expectation!

"It was an incredibly special evening for me - I am a firm believer in the notion that you are a product of the people you surround yourself with - and so I wanted to get all those special people in my life together in one room to celebrate what we’ve collectively achieved for me through my thurs (sic) decade and I wanted everyone to go home and say it was the best party they’d ever been to! (And they did!)" You can keep up to date with the latest TV and showbiz news by signing up to the newsletter here.
