BBC One's Dark Money leaves viewers underwhelmed with its finale

BBC One's Dark Money wrapped up tonight (July 16) and definitely left viewers with mixed feelings.

If you weren't aware, the drama covers the difficult topic of child sex abuse in Hollywood, something which has been coming to light more and more in recent years.

In tonight's finale, parents Manny and Sam (Babou Ceesay and Jill Halfpenny) faced the pressure of coming clean about their son's abuse, and pushback from both those wanting to keep the truth buried and those who would criticise them for it happening in the first place.

For a while, it looked like Manny was going to take things into his own hands and murder producer Jotham Starr, but thankfully he didn't actually go through with it.

Meanwhile, a bunch of parents and workers at the production company broke their NDAs (non-disclosure agreements) to come forward over the abuse.

While it looked like things were heading for a happy ending, we never actually found out if Starr got convicted of his crimes or not.

Viewers were not happy with the lack of resolution, saying the solid drama deserved a less abrupt ending and/or needed more episodes to give them closure (tweets contain strong language):
