BBC Radio 1 DJ Jack Saunders has revealed his top picks for the most anticipated and 'must see' performances at this year's Glastonbury Festival. The presenter of Radio 1's New Music Show is on-site at Worthy Farm in Somerset, contributing to the BBC's extensive coverage of the five-day music event.

Viewers tuning in from home will catch Jack alongside presenters Jo Whiley, Clara Amfo, and Lauren Laverne, showcasing headliners and other major acts from the BBC Park Studio throughout the festival. Before setting off for Glastonbury, Jack disclosed his top five acts not to miss, whether you're attending in person or enjoying the festival via TV and radio from the comfort of your living room.

The BBC plans to live stream performances from the festival's five main stages - Pyramid, Other Stage, Park Stage, West Holts, and Woodsies - over the course of the weekend. Impressively, four out of Jack's five highlighted acts will be available for home viewers to enjoy.

In a video posted on his TikTok account, Jack advised his followers: "Who is going to have the biggest set at Glastonbury this year? Here are five that I think could do it.."

"First up, Kneecap, an Irish rap trio who blend the English and Gaelic language, really high energy. And I think a lot of people are going to be talking about them afterwards.", reports Bristol Live.

"Number four, Charli XCX Presents Party Girl. With the moment Charli's having around her new album 'Brat', this is going to be a celebration of all her recent successes, and if you can - you'll wanna be there."

"Number three, Confidence Man, a band that seem to alter my brain chemistry every time I see them. They will convert you to their party world, and you will never want it to end. Dangerously good."

He continued: "Number two is Remi Wolf, and she is becoming one of the worst kept secrets in music. You're gonna dance, you're gonna cry, you're gonna laugh, and you might even rip all your clothes off in the heat of the moment. You're gonna have a helluva time."

And what's his top act?

"And for that number one spot, the band you can not miss at Glastonbury this year... it's Fontaines DC," he claimed. "And they are gonna lay their marker as one of the best bands around at the moment."

Having already amassed more than 74,500 views, Jack's video and his predictions have struck a chord with fans, earning nearly 3,000 likes and 73 comments. For those not attending Glastonbury, BBC iPlayer provides a way to join in on the action.

Four of Jack's recommended acts will be performing across Glastonbury's five largest stages, all available via the BBC iPlayer.

These include Kneecap on Woodsies at 11.30am Saturday, June 29; Confidence Man on the Other Stage today at 3.45pm (Friday, June 28); Remi Wolf also at Woodsies this afternoon at 2pm; and finally, today's top recommendation, Fontaines DC on the Park Stage tonight at 11pm (Friday, June 28). All these performances can be accessed via the iPlayer.

Charli XCX is set to perform at The Levels in Silver Hayes on Friday, June 28 at 12.30am. Regrettably, the BBC's coverage doesn't extend to every performance and location at the festival, with hundreds of acts scheduled over the weekend.

Experiencing the festival from home offers a snapshot of some of the action at Glastonbury. For the complete experience, you'll need to secure a ticket for next year's event.
