Emma Louise Jones has announced she'll be stepping back from her presenting roles due to health concerns.

The Leeds-born presenter, who made her debut with the BBC in 2021, has become a familiar face on shows like Match Of The Day X and has collaborated with various other broadcasters - including LUFC TV - throughout her career. But the 34-year-old took to social media on Wednesday to share that she's been hospitalised recently and will subsequently be pausing her work commitments to focus on her health.

Taking to X, she shared: "My health hasn't been in a great place for quite some time now and I've spent more time in hospital than my own home." She continued, "I'm taking time away from work/life to focus on getting back to full strength. I'll be back soon."

Jones concluded her update with a positive emoji, prompting an outpouring of support from her 345,000 followers. Comments ranged from: "Get well soon EJ, health is the most important thing. Wishing you a speedy recovery so we can enjoy your punditry again, to messages like: "Sorry to hear, speedy recovery," and: "Wishing you a speedy recovery, Emma," reports the Express.

Others expressed their encouragement, saying: "Get well soon.. Come back refreshed and recharged!" and: "Hope you're ok Emma and back to full fitness soon." Sports broadcasting legend Jeff Stelling also offered his support, reaching out: "Sorry to hear that. Hope things improve soon."

Jones has built up an impressive following throughout her career, captivating audiences with her dynamic interview style. In April, she dived into the world of MMA, training with Oktagon sensation Denis Frimpong.

During their intense session in the cage, Frimpong showed the pundit how to execute a perfect triangle choke. Despite the successful move, Jones was quick to downplay any future in mixed martial arts following the experience. Sharing the clip on Instagram, she humorously remarked: "I'm not sure I'll ever be an MMA fighter after this training session."
