Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell has marked a momentous moment for her family - particularly her dad - as he finished his cancer treatment. Dianne bravely opened up about the "difficult time" she had been having away from the dance floor towards the end of last year after she sparked concern on the BBC One show.

She later revealed that she received some concerning news about her dad’s health. Then in November, she shared more about her dad's diagnosis. The dancer took to Instagram to wish her father well ahead of his first round of chemotherapy treatment.

Sharing a photo of Mark waving to the camera from his hospital bed, the dancer penned in the caption: "I'm so proud of you dad [red heart emoji]. First round of chemotherapy today!" She then emotionally said: "I wish I could be there to hold your hand and support you in person but I do know that I'm making you so proud over here in my concert every week!"

Five months on and Dianne has offered a positive update on her father's road to recovery, revealing Mark had officially finished his chemotherapy treatment. She posted a video in which her dad could be seen in various pictures and clips from over the course of his treatment.

At one point, Dianne was seen holding her dad's hand in the hospital as she was able to visit Australia following the end of Strictly 2023 at the end of last year. The video then ended with Mark ringing the bell to signal the end of the treatment and it appears there may be plans for Dianne's parents to visit the UK.

"To my daddy you did it 6 months later and 12 rounds done," the 34-year-old emotionally started the caption of her post. "I am so so PROUD of you it’s been a tough road but you have always done it with a smile and a thumbs up. I know you were scared and I know it was not easy but you have done it.

Well done mark, you absolute hero and to my gorgeous friend @diannebuswell I know how strong you have been and I’m so proud of you xxxxxxx celebrations are in order and a big party when your in the UK."

We cannot wait to celebrate all together, eating a good and biiiig pizza. This made my smile." Jeff Brazier, the father of Dianne's last Strictly partner Bobby, shared: "Go on Mr Buswell."
