BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Ellie Leach shares emotional video of man 'healing heart' after tears over ex

Ellie Leach shared an emotional tribute to her dad as she spoke about him 'healing hearts' just weeks after she was seen in tears over her ex. The actress' love life has been hitting the headlines since she triumphed on last year's Strictly Come Dancing.

But it appears the main man currently in her life is her beloved dad who was seen, alongside Ellie's mum Karen, week in, week out, in the ballroom as she danced her way to victory in the BBC One contest alongside professional dance partner Vito Coppola.

After heading off for a sunshine break with her mum amid a break from her first-ever stage role, in which she plays Miss Scarlett in Cluedo 2 - The Next Chapter, Ellie was keen to make sure she didn't forget about Al, who is also a doting father to Ellie's younger sister, Daisy, on Father's Day.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday (June 16), Ellie shared a picture taken moments after she won Strictly back in December 2023, with both Al and Karen embracing their daughter with the famous Glitterball trophy coming towards them. There was also a sweet snap of the Leach family with Ellie's bestie Jade following her big win.

Alongside the images, Ellie, 23, wrote: "Happy Father's Day to my pops. Love you so much dad, thank you for always putting up with out moods and fixing things you didn't break! You're the best dad we could ever wish for xxxxx."

The former Coronation Street star also shared a video of herself and dad watching Coldplay last year as they both sang the band's emotional hit, Yellow, together. "Healing hearts my dad," Ellie wrote alongside a photo of him planting a touching kiss on her head.

It comes after Ellie was seen opening up about her split from her ex-boyfriend for the first time. During spring, the former soap star appeared in Drama Queens, the new ITVBe show that followed a string of glamourous soap stars.

The eight-part reality series gave fans a glimpse into the real lives of some of the nation's favourite soap stars as they juggle their busy filming schedules with photo shoots, award ceremonies and their family lives. As well as Ellie, fellow soap stars including Corrie's Lucy Fallon, Emmerdale's Amy Walsh and her real-life cousin Brooke Vincent also featured.

In the first episode, Ellie spoke about her experiences over the past year after leaving the cobbles and winning the 2023 series of Strictly. Comforted by her mum Karen, Ellie shared how she felt after her ex spoke out publicly about their relationship and admitted he had cheated on her.

Speaking on the ITVBe show, Ellie said: "An email was sent to my agent and it said 'I just wanted to let you know that Ellie Leach's ex has chatted to us. He's really nice about Ellie and says she's perfect. He also admits to cheating on her. Thank you." Ellie then added: "It was just a shock. I was like what?," before breaking down in tears. Consoled by her mum, she then continued: "I can truly, truly say that I gave someone my everything. And if that's not enough, then it's not enough. But i'm sure it will be enough for somebody else."
