Ellie Leach has said she 'cries' over the issues she faces with her skin as she shared how she wants to 'normalise' the issue. The young actress has often opened up about her struggles with her skin.

Ellie, 23, last spoke about it back in January, weeks after lifting the Glitterball trophy in the final of Strictly Come Dancing 2023 alongside her dance partner Vito Coppola. She was taking part in a Q&A on Instagram at the time when she was asked: "Skin care routine please? Your skin is amazing!"

But in her response, she admitted that she didn't feel like that was the case. Sharing a makeup-free selfie as she travelled on the train, Ellie typed: "My skin at the minute is not clear at all. I have this random rash which I can't seem to get rid of and it actually makes me feel really self-conscious. But I do find that talking about it makes me feel a little better."

She added: "During Strictly I was away from home quite a lot so didn't have my usual skincare with me and since being home for Christmas I just haven't even thought about getting back into a routine!!!! But at the minute I'm just trying to embrace it as it's normal not to have clear skin!!!"

Now, Ellie is busy touring the country in her stage debut as Miss Scarlett in Cluedo 2 - The Next Chapter and it appears the former Coronation Street star is still prone to flare-ups with her skin. In a picture posted to her Instagram Story, Ellie could be seen in her dressing room.

She appeared makeup-free but had her hand over her face. Ellie, who shot to fame playing Faye Windass in ITV's Corrie, typed alongside the image to her fans and followers: "Cry about my skin so I pick at it which in turn makes it even worse and then I pick at it again." Ellie continued: "It's just a vicious cycle but also normalising textured skin so here we are!"

It comes after Ellie was recently seen breaking down in tears over her ex cheating on her on the debut of Drama Queens. The new show aired its first episode on ITVBe last Wednesday night (April 10) and stars Ellie alongside fellow soap stars including Lucy Fallon, Amy Walsh and her real-life cousin Brooke Vincent.

The eight-part reality series will give fans a glimpse into the real lives of some of the nation's favourite soap stars as they juggle their busy filming schedules with photo shoots, award ceremonies and their family lives. In the first episode, the 23-year-old spoke about her experiences over the past year after leaving the cobbles and winning the last series of Strictly.

Ellie was seen in floods of tears after she opened up about her ex boyfriend. Comforted by her mum Karen, Ellie shared how she felt after her ex spoke out publicly about their relationship and admitted he had cheated on her. Speaking on the ITVBe show, Ellie said: "An email was sent to my agent and it said 'I just wanted to let you know that Ellie Leach's ex has chatted to us. He's really nice about Ellie and says she's perfect. He also admits to cheating on her. Thank you."

Ellie then added: "It was just a shock. I was like what?," before breaking down in tears. Consoled by her mum, she then continued: "I can truly, truly say that I gave someone my everything. And if that's not enough, then it's not enough. But i'm sure it will be enough for somebody else."
