Janette Manrara has shared that she felt 'mum guilt' for taking time away from her baby daughter. The Strictly Come Dancing star welcomed her first child Lyra Rose into the world in July 2023 with partner and former pro Strictly dancer Aljaz Skorjanec.

Whilst navigating life as new parents, Janette and Aljaz have shared updates on the journey with their fans on social media. The couple left the UK earlier this month and headed to Miami with their little girl, marking her first long-haul trip at 10 months to the United States.

But now Janette says she has been left feeling guilty after heading off on a girls trip and leaving Lyra at home with Aljaz. In her most recent Instagram post, Janette shared a collage of photos with her followers which documented her short trip to Marbella with fellow dancer Ashley Roberts.

The pair could be seen smiling and laughing whilst they posed together and donned some gorgeous holiday outfits. But despite appearing as though they were having a good time, Janette admitted she had 'mum guilt'.

Alongside the photos, Janette's caption read: "A short but sweet weekend escape! 48 hrs of me time and sun in Marbella w/ @iamashleyroberts is just what was needed. Sunshine, plasters , dinner, and face masks.

"Proper girlie time. There was definitely some mum guilt happening, but it's important take time for ourselves too. Also, really missed spending time w. Ash. It was long overdue. Love you sis."

Responding to the post, former Pussycat Doll Ashley wrote: "Marbs wasn’t ready." Many fans responded to the post stating Janette's baby-free time was well deserved and to not feel guilty for it.

Whilst Janette was away, Aljaz took great care of his daughter and took a trip to see Gemma Atkinson. The pair organised a play gate for their children, with Gemma's son Thiago who is a similar age.

Sharing a video to her Instagram story of the two children, Gemma said: "Lyra came to play and Alijaz came to eat lots of food! As cute as this video is, all I can think is, thank god we didn't have twins."

Alijaz then shared an adorable picture to his own page, tagging his partner Janette as well as Gemma and Gorka. The caption read: "Buddies," and Gemma then commented: "Mia will not stop talking about looking after 'her babies'."
