BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Janette Manrara struck down as she shares update on Aljaz Skorjanec's first Father's Day

Janette Manrara has shared her first update since arriving back in the UK from her first long-haul trip with her daughter and revealed they'd both been struck down my sickness. The presenter and dancer had been sharing updates from her break to Miami with her husband Aljaz Skorjanec and their little girl, Lyra Rose.

The family ditched their home in Cheshire for the USA earlier this month and it is the first time they have travelled long-haul with Lyra as they headed to see Janette's family in Miami. During their trip, Janette was seen taking Lyra to meet Mickey Mouse for the first time with adorable results and spending time in the iconic parks with her parents and siblings.

Janette also told how they'd pulled themselves away from DisneyWorld and celebrated Lyra's birthday early with her own mermaid-themed bash. She shared an adorable picture of the tot in front of a table set up ready for a spread, as well as a huge banner that read 'Happy Birthday' with mermaid decorations and an array of silver, pink and green metallic balloons as well as a picture of her and Aljaz with Lyra soaking it all up.

Alongside the string of photos, Janette, 40, said: "Our itty bitty pretty one is turning one soon, so we threw her an early birthday celebration while in Miami #earlybirthday #mermaidtheme #turningonesoon."

However, after having to say a tough goodbye to Janette's family, the Strictly Come Dancing star disappeared from social media. But on Sunday (June 16), as she marked Aljaz's first Father's Day, the mum-of-one explained the reason for her silence.

In a video posted to her Instagram Story, Janette spoke directly to the camera and said: "Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. Hope you're having an amazing day and also just wanted to send my love to anyone who has lost their father, I know that today can be a bit of a tough day so sending my love to you too."

She continued: "I have been a little bit MIA because I flew back from MIA - Miami - and got really sic. Lyra's also a little bit sick but we're both taking medication." As Lyra was heard making noise in the background, Janette laughed: "She seems to be doing ok, it's just a really runny nose. I've got it here [her sinuses] and a bit of a cough but hey ho, it happens when you travel.

"We did good not to get sick while we were over there. Aljaz has had an amazing Father's Day. He's currently watching his home, Slovenia, play in the Euros and has been cuddling all day at home with Lyra. So it's been a nice day. But anyways, sending you all the love from a very sick Janette and a sick but happy Lyra."

Janette also took to her main Instagram grid with a snap of Aljaz and Lyra, both being for the camera at her early birthday party, and said: "Happy Fathers Day Ati! I love you. Love, Lyra." She then shared another video to her Instagram Story in which the doting dad could be seen with his little girl while watching his beloved home country in the Euros.
