Oti Mabuse has said 'she smashed it' as she was seen partaking in a 'first' since becoming a mum. The former Strictly Come Dancing star welcomed her first child into the world in October last year.

Dancer Oti announced she and her husband Marius Lepure had become first time parents to a baby girl on Christmas Day but later revealed her baby girl had been born "prematurely" months earlier and was put in an incubator with jaundice.

"She was very premature, she came really, really early - unexpected premature which was a big, big shock," Oti previously told Giovanna Fletcher on her podcast, Happy Mum Happy Baby. Oti, who developed sepsis meaning her daughter - who was born two months early - was at risk of being infected when she was born, said in a separate interview: "She was in the NICU for about six weeks, she came two months early, which was totally unexpected."

She added on This Morning earlier this year: "And actually I gave birth at the UCLH, it was so amazing the NHS and I've said this so many times. I don't usually get sick so I'm never usually in hospital and so I never really have to use the NHS that much but then I really needed them and they were incredible. We were taken care of so much."

Oti has also been sharing updates with her fans and followers on social media as she navigates her biggest role to date while also working having returned as a judge on Dancing on Ice earlier this year.

In her latest post on Instagram, the 33-year-old revealed she and Marius had taken their daughter, whose name hasn't been shared publically, on a plane for the first time as they headed to visit her family in South Africa.

"Baby’s first flight to South Africa Ready for takeoff with our little adventurer!" she started the caption of her post which featured a sweet selfie of the family-of-three. She added: "Let’s see how many snacks we can devour before we land! #FlyingWithBaby #AdventureBegins #southafrica."

Oti also shared a video to her Instagram Story in which she could be seen in her seat with her baby girl snuggled up to her. As she gave a thumbs up to the camera, the presenter said: "She once again smashed it," adding a love heart eyes emoji and a plane emoji.

It comes after Oti told fans she was battling "mummy paranoia" amid sleep deprivation and concerns about her supply of breast milk. She sparked an outpouring of supportive messages over the wekeend when she said she is seeking advice because she is struggling from lack of sleep as she has to pump milk throughout the night even though her daughter is sleeping well.
