'We Will Beat Corona': South African Ndlovu Youth Choir Create Catchy Coronavirus-Awareness Dance Video

The Ndlovu Youth Choir, a group of young South African singers, have released a catchy music video to raise awareness of proper hygiene and optimism during the age of the new coronavirus.

The footage, filmed in Johannesburg, South Africa, and posted to Twitter on March 10, shows the group of former America’s Got Talent finalists advising their listeners in a mixture of English and Zulu to wash their hands and avoid panicking.

“We are from a community in rural Limpopo province that has a high prevalence of HIV and TB,” Ndlovu Youth Choir director Ralf Schmitt said. “COVID-19 could have a devastating effect on our community and because of this, we decided to make a video to dispel myths about the virus and encourage basic prevention.”

According to their website, the Ndlovu Youth Choir was founded in 2009 and seeks to provide an outlet for the youth of Limpopo, changing their lives through song and dance. Credit: Ndlovu Youth Choir via Storyful
