A beloved village tearoom known for its delicious cakes and friendly staff has closed.

The owners of Tabnabs in Mattishall announced on social media today that they had decided to permanently close the tearoom.

Suleyman and Linda Ol took to Facebook to let their customers know that "with huge regrets" they had closed the business from today.

"Tabnabs has been at heart of this community for many years," they said.

"We have loved serving you and we will very much miss you all but unfortunately, circumstances which are beyond our control mean we can no longer run our beloved tea room.

"We thank our staff for their service and you, our wonderful customers.

"We thank you for your loyal custom and support over the years, we wish you all the very best."

Located in Church Plain, the eatery was best known for its breakfasts, cakes and afternoon teas.

Hundreds responded to the Facebook post expressing their sadness and disappointment at the news.
