A New York City public relations specialist is fighting for his life after being hit by an SUV while biking on Friday night.

The victim, identified in a GoFundMe as 30-year-old Jacob Priley, was taken to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital on Fifth Avenue near Union Street in Brooklyn around 7:30 p.m. local time, according to the New York City Police Department.

The NYPD said Priley was heading north via a bike on Fifth Avenue on a "green traffic signal" when he "made an abrupt left turn to westbound Union Street, striking the front driver side of a 2017 Nissan Rogue."

The 58-year-old driver, who remained at the scene, was heading south on Fifth Avenue with a "green traffic signal" at the time, the department added.

Priley was thrown onto the road and suffered head trauma as a result of the collision, police said.

Authorities said the unidentified driver was not hurt in the accident and was not arrested, though an investigation is still underway.

The account supervisor for the public relations firm Berlin Rosen previously worked in the New York State Senate as a chief of staff for Democratic state Sen. Brad Hoylman-Sigal and for the Clinton Foundation, per his LinkedIn account.

“Jacob is a beloved colleague and friend, and more than that, an amazing soul,” Berlin Rosen managing director Jeremy Soffin said, per the Daily News. “We are all praying for a full recovery.”

According to the GoFundMe campaign launched in the wake of the accident, Priley's family has flown out to New York City to be with him, sharing that he is "getting the best possible care we can access for him."

"Anyone who knows Jacob knows what an extraordinary person he is; let's show up for him the way he would show up for us," the fundraiser, which has raised over $77,000 as of Monday afternoon, added.

The family said in an update on Sunday that his medical team was working to reduce pressure in his brain and that there had been "some good early indications this morning as his vitals remain stable and the pressure has diminished a bit."

"Jacob's family is extraordinarily grateful for the outpouring of support so far," the organizer continued. "It shows how far Jacob's community of friends and supporters extends, and it makes going through this horrible trauma a lot less lonely."
