Ben Affleck Defends Jennifer Garner's Interview About Their Marriage Split

When Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner split up after more than ten years of marriage last summer, we have to admit that we were left feeling a little bit broken-hearted ourselves.

And when Jen gave an interview about her and Ben’s divorce and appeared to confirm rumours that the actor had cheated on her with their nanny, we couldn’t hide our shock.

But Ben has firmly stood by his ex-wife and come forward to defend Jennifer’s decision to speak out about the break up, insisting that the pair are still on great terms.

He told the New York Times: “She felt like she wanted to discuss it and get it out there and get it over with so she could say, ‘Look, I already talked about it - I don’t want to do it again.’

"It’s fine, She’s allowed to talk about it.

"Jen’s great. She’s a great person. We’re on great terms. I just saw her this morning, so that’s the reality that I live in.”

Ben also insisted that he did not have a problem with Ricky Gervais’ joke when he hosted the Golden Globe Awards earlier this year.

When introducing Ben’s best friend, Matt Damon, the Brit comic quipped: “He’s the only person who Ben Affleck hasn’t been unfaithful to.”

Ooft, burn.

Speaking about the gag, Ben insisted: “It’s the way Ricky Gervais perceives me, I suppose. Whatever. I’ve had jokes made at my expense before. It’s part of the deal.”

It has previously been reported that Ben and Jennifer are eager to remain friends and stay on good terms with one another for the sake of their children - and it looks like they’re doing a ruddy good job at it.
