Black Friday weekend is finally here, whether you love or loathe sales shopping, it's undeniably one of the best times of the year to nab a designer bargain.

What is Black Friday?
The US shopping event began as the big post-Thanksgiving sales extravaganza and didn't make it to the UK until 2010. Since then, it has grown into one of the biggest sale shopping events on the calendar, alongside Prime Day and the Boxing Day sales.
Most UK retailers now take part in Black Friday, usually reducing prices on a wide range of products in flash sales that last for anywhere between 24 hours to several weeks.
The Black Friday sales are starting earlier and earlier every year, with discounts running in the week leading up to the big day. Deals remain low throughout Cyber Weekend after Black Friday and through to Cyber Monday, which falls on Monday, 29 November this year.
When is Black Friday 2021?
Black Friday traditionally falls on the day after Thanksgiving, which is always celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November. This means Black Friday 2021 is taking place on Friday, 26 November, although sales began early and will last through to Cyber Monday on 29 November.
How to find the best designer Black Friday deals 2021
Whether you are looking for clothing, accessories or shoes, when it comes to Black Friday shopping, your best bet for nabbing a designer bargain is to head to one of the major luxury retailers, including Net-a-Porter and Selfridges, where you'll see most of your favourite brands discounted in one place.
To give you an example, Mulberry doesn't tend to run its own Black Friday sale but its designer bags were discounted at Farfetch in 2020.
