The best Halloween costumes we've seen around the country this year (celebs not included)

As the last weekend before Halloween passes, the creative costumes that strutted the streets over the weekend are filtering onto social media.

The costumes ranged from the topical to the humorous with opportunities for the entire family to get involved.

With a couple days left until All Hallow's Eve there are sure to be even more costumes that will ignite the interest of the internet.

There are plenty of ideas that one can take inspiration from that are coming to light but if you don't find an idea here you can always pull something from your closet or see what people are looking for on Google.

Here are some creative costumes that we found on social media this weekend.

Spooky icon: How Spirit Halloween appears each fall in vacant storefronts nationwide

Barbie

We kick off this roundup with the most searched costume of the year, "Barbie." What sets this rendition, from Mom blogger Farrah-Faye Burbidge, is the inclusion of her entire family and the foresight to create boxes for the world-dominating characters.

Local flavor

Los Angeles artists Hannah Webb and Jason Radovan interpreted a landmark advertsiment for the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra found off the 110-Freeway in Downtown Los Angeles.

Memes everywhere

There is room every year for the meme of the moment to be manifested into a costume and this year was no different. People took the opportunity to bring the "Plane Lady" to the party, we have yet to confirm the realness of the various people called out over the weekend.

Politicians were not spared

The political costume is a Halloween staple but this outfit, mocking Arkansas governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders' podium expense scandal, put a little extra spice to what is normally a sweet celebration.

Mario Family

Craft creator Laura Prietto turned her family into the characters from the Mario franchise. While the movie was not as dominant as "Barbie," it was a blockbuster in its own right.

"Ghost" pottery scene

Tik Tok creator Kathy Emerson crafted a tribute to one of the sexiest scenes in cinema. She affixed a cardboard cutout of the late Patrick Swayze and swayed along to the Righteous Brothers to recrate the pottery scene from the move "Ghost."

Indiana Jones

While Harrison Ford's character is a classic shopping out of the closet costume, what carries this pair over the top is the accompanying boulder that Indiana Jones just happens to steer clear of.
