Somehow, I found a way to combine my love for shopping and writing into a career. (My teenage self would not believe it.)

As a shopping editor at In The Know by Yahoo, I get to try out new products all the time, from skin care and cooking gadgets to pet products and fashion. Then, I write about the stuff that I like, so readers like you can get an honest review from a regular schmegular gal like me. (If I try something and I don’t like it, I will never tell you to buy it — simple as that.) I’m constantly sharing my favorite products with my friends, family and random strangers who ask, “where’d you get that?”

So, think of this like my own PSA: These are the best products I tested out in March. These are the ones that worked for me — and the ones that I’d restock and tell all my friends in the group chat to try, too.

This face mask is great for hydrating and toning the skin.
$64 at fresh

I swear my skin has never looked better than after using fresh’s Rose Face Mask. The mask is for toning and hydrating skin, so it feels soft, looks plump and more even. I use it twice a week, but according to the brand’s product description, it’s gentle enough that you could use it every day. I pair this with the fresh’s Kombucha Antioxidant Facial Treatment Essence in the morning to protect my skin from NYC pollutants and blue light. Then, at night, I use the brand’s newest product, its Black Tea Advanced Age Renewal Cream. The cream is said to have “proven retinol-like performance” but without drying out your skin.

These earrings are waterproof and sweatproof.
$55 at Hey Harper

Hey Harper’s jewelry claims to be waterproof and sweatproof — after testing its chain earrings out, I can confirm that it’s true. I hate taking off my jewelry to take a shower or when I work out. However, I’ve worn my Hey Harper 14-karat gold-plated earrings in the shower, to pilates class, on runs in the park — and they still look just as great as when I first got them. Not to mention, they don’t irritate my sensitive skin like a lot of other earrings do. I almost never take them out.

Use this pen for fast teeth-whitening results.
$20 at Amazon

I’ll be honest with you — I was given the gift (and genetics) of naturally white teeth. However, I love coffee and red wine, so I do notice them dulling from time to time and often use whitening strips to remove any stains. That said, last month I tried out Colgate’s Optic White Overnight Teeth-Whitening Pen, and I loved the fast results. I saw a difference in just one day, but after using the pen for a week, I started getting compliments from strangers. Now I see why it’s an Amazon best seller!

These plat-based wipes are veterinarian-approved.
$17 at DOG by Dr Lisa

Back in February, I had the opportunity to interview Dr. Lisa Chimes, a veterinarian who created her own skin care line for dogs. I learned that I was probably bathing my pup too often, which was good news for us both — he hates going to the groomer and getting a bath at home. Instead, I started using her brand’s Dog Wipes all over his body after he rolls around in the dirt at the dog park. The wipes don’t bother him at all, they smell great, and they’re 100% compostable. He also has allergies, so my own vet recently recommended wiping his paws whenever he comes inside to remove stuck-on allergens, and these are gentle enough I can use them a few times a day.

This candle smells bright, airy and fresh.
$34 at Woodwick

I love a good candle, especially a Woodwick candle with its crackling flame. The sound is so soothing, and this new scent for spring smells fresh, bright, clean and airy. It has notes of citrus, ocean minerals and white sage. I’ve especially liked burning it on Sundays after I’ve tidied up my apartment, done a little work out at home, finished all of my chores and cozied up for an afternoon of watching TV. I don’t know how to explain it, but something about this candle makes me feel like I have my life together (even when I don’t).

This roll-on blemish stick takes care of pimples overnight.
$20 at Saje

I recently used this roll-on blemish care stick from Saje on an incoming zit — you know, the red ones you can see under your skin, ready to make their way to the surface? I rolled this on before going to bed, woke up, and it was gone. Of course, for more severe blemishes, I assume the results may take a little longer. But so far, this gets a stamp of approval from me.

This facial cleanser smells so good.
$38 at Stripes

Stripes is a new skin care brand for perimenopause skin from Naomi Watts. While I’m pretty far from experiencing menopause myself, I loved the brand’s face wash. It’s calming, nourishing and perfect for dry, sensitive skin. It also smells amazing and leaves my skin smelling good, too. The scent is a mix of iris, rose and sandalwood, and I know what you’re thinking, the scent will make you break out — but this cleanser is hypoallergenic.

Stay tuned next month for more of my favorite tried-and-true products. Summer is coming, so you know I’m on a mission to find the next best SPF.
