Staff picks from Amazon, Target, Uniqlo, and more
PEOPLE Picks is a monthly roundup of products the people behind PEOPLE Shopping actually buy — and love.
Fall is here and we’re shopping like it.
Between writing and editing articles on celeb-inspired outerwear and sourcing the best deals at Amazon ahead of October Prime Day, my PEOPLE Shopping teammates discovered a few products they couldn’t resist buying for themselves.
We found a sweater at Amazon that’s is excellent quality for the price, comfortable jeans from Madewell, and a pair of boots that nod at the cowboy trend without being actual cowboy boots. Clearly, fall fashion was top of mind.
Other highlights from the month include a $7 purse organizer that holds over a dozen bags, a calming moisturizer that delivered results overnight, and an easy-to-clean stock pot just in time for soup season.

Lillusory Henley Sweater, $32
$54
$32
“I decided to refresh my fall wardrobe with this cozy knit pullover after I saw a friend wearing something similar. I first got it in the apricot color, but as soon as I tried it on, I immediately went back and purchased a second one in black.
These sweaters are so soft and the quality is fantastic for the price. I've already paired them with jeans and over dresses for casual or more dressed-up looks. I know I'll be wearing both colors on repeat all fall.”—Hannah Freedman, Associate director of growth and content strategy
A New Day Camisole, $18
$18
“This black cami was an impulse buy last year, and it ended up becoming a staple in my wardrobe during layering season. I purchased a pink one this summer during the height of the Barbie frenzy, and this fall, I'm buying this white version to go under cozy cardigans and blazers. It's one of those items that looks more expensive than it actually is, and it can stand on its own or look super chic underneath any fall layer.”—Erin Johnson, senior shopping editor
Tatcha Indigo Calming Cream Moisturizer, $92
$92
“My skin has been on the fritz for the greater part of the year, and I've been desperately trying to figure out what's causing the not-quite-breakouts and not-quite-milia on my face.
I've tried a ton of different moisturizers until recently landing on this calming offering from Tatcha. I'm not kidding when I say that the little bumps on my skin virtually went away overnight and my complexion hasn't looked this smooth in ages.”—Lindsey Metrus, commerce director

Zedodier Hanging Purse Organizer, $7
$7
“This hanging purse organizer is hands down the best solution I've found for storing bags. It has a clothes hanger top with six hooks to hang bags on. Each hook is pretty deep and can easily hold more than one bag. Right now, I have a bunch of tote bags on the two lowest hooks, long strap purses in the middle, and top handle bags at the top. It has freed up so much of my limited storage space!"—Nicola Fumo, shopping writer and editor
Uniqlo Round Mini Shoulder Bag, $20
$20
“In New York City, the Uniqlo Round Mini Shoulder Bag might be more popular than the Lululemon belt bag by this point. Any time I wear mine out of the house — I bought the beige bag back in July — I try to keep count of how many others I see with it on, but I inevitably lose track.
Its ubiquity no doubt comes from its genius shape, which nestles into the curve of your waist and seems downright bottomless at times. (Pro tip: Use the pockets built into the lining for lipsticks and tampons.) For fall, I might get the Uniqlo crossbody in red or olive.”—Laura Gurfein, commerce director
Laicigo Pointed Toe Chunky Heel Ankle Boots, $53
$59
$53
“I loved the silhouette of cowboy boots but wanted something I knew I'd wear more, which is how I landed on this pair of white booties from Amazon.
I've only worn them once so far, but I'm excited about the endless possibility of fall outfits I can style them with. Since the boots have a chunky heel, I think they're pretty easy to walk in. Wear them with tall socks so your ankles don't rub against or stick to the faux leather.”—Alex Nelson, commerce editor & strategist
Madewell The Perfect Vintage Wide-Leg Jean
$138
“I was in need of a new pair of staple black jeans, and after trying on this pair from Madewell, I knew they would be worth every penny. The pants come in a flattering wide-leg silhouette that so many celebrities have been wearing for fall. They even felt comfortable to wear for hours on my recent trip to Australia. The perfect pair of jeans exists, and it's these.”—Nicol Natale, shopping writer

Full Focus Black Leather Planner, $58
$58
“This is expensive for a planner, especially one that only covers 12 weeks. But it’s oriented toward setting goals and habit-tracking and it's really helped me with consistency, which is worth the money to me.
In the front of the planner, you zoom out on your big-picture goals, identify your “why” for each, and then break them down into steps. There are monthly, weekly, and daily pages where you can plan it all out. One of my favorite features is the week in review template, which gives me a moment to reflect on the good, take accountability for the not-so-good, and measure my progress.”—Nicola Fumo, shopping writer and editor
Our Place Perfect Pot
$165
“Soup season is in full swing, and this stock pot is all I need to whip up yummy recipes. Like all Our Place cookware, it's extremely easy to clean and it comes with a wooden spoon that rests on the handle to avoid counter drippings.
The nonstick pot is family-sized, so I have plenty of leftovers for lunches, or I can whip up a big batch of chili to eat with friends while watching football. I have the beige color, but it's available in nine other pretty shades that will look nice on your stovetop.”—Claire Harmeyer, senior commerce writer
