There's nothing better than a crisp and cool glass of wine, especially during the summer months. But if you've forgotten to put your bottle in the fridge, getting it to that perfect temperature fast can be a struggle.

Thankfully, there's a handy way that you can do this in as little as 15 minutes - and it doesn't involve putting ice in your glass, which can water down the wine and compromise its taste.

Wine educator @confidenceuncorked took to TikTok to share the quick hack that 'works so well' to transform room-temperature wine into something ice-cold and refreshing, without adding any ice.

Boasting over 121,200 followers on the video-sharing app, the vino expert often shares tips for fans of the alcoholic beverage to really get the most out of their wine, with fans often flooding the comments with praise for the advice. And the quick cooling tip, which has garnered an impressive 20.9 thousand views, has been hugely popular.

In the video, she says that you can chill a bottle 'super fast' from 'room temperature to cold and crisp' in 15 minutes - which is ideal if you're having friends or family round and want to treat them to a refreshing drink.

And all you need to do this is a wet paper towel, which you should run under the tap and then squeeze to get rid of any excess water. Then, wrap it around your chosen bottle.

The expert then said: "Open your freezer, find a nice cosy spot for it, because it's going to take a 15-minute nap."

And there's one 'crucial' step that you should never forget to do - and that's setting a timer. The expert warned that leaving the bottle in the freezer for too long can cause it to 'explode' if it's a sparkling wine, and nobody wants to spend time cleaning that up.

She continued: "Once your timer's up, take the bottle out, unwrap it, and there you have it. Perfectly chilled. Open your bottle safely - especially if it's bubbly.

"Then pour yourself a glass, and cheers! Let me know if this works for you."

Many people took to the comments to agree that this simple tip had in fact worked for them, with others suggesting small ways to make it even more effective.

One person said: "This is the best suggestion and works so well! Perfect for chilling down those Summer whites quickly."

Another said: "Literally do this all the time! Lifesaver."

Warning people of what can happen if you fail to set a timer, one person said: "Yes, set a timer, I didn't and she's right, frozen champagne chards all over!"

While a fourth added: "Works even better if you sprinkle some salt on the paper towel!"
