I’m A Celebrity viewers were left cringing as Beverley Callard slated a TV show – not realising that her campmate Vernon Kay presented it.
The contestants were chatting around the fire when the Corrie legend laid into reality show Splash!, which aired from 2013 to 2014 and saw celebrities trying to master diving.
Apparently unaware of Kay’s role as host, she said in her opinion it was the “most stupid programme” she had ever seen.

Roaring with laughter, the contestants reminded Callard that it was Kay’s gig, and he chimed in: “It kept my central heating on though Beverley.”

The soap star was horrified about her blunder and rushed to apologise.
“Oh no, I’m so sorry, Vernon, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry,” she said, blushing while everyone giggled.
Later, the actor told the Telegraph: “I wanted to curl up and die, poor Vernon. I’m notorious for putting my foot in it, and I really did there.”
Viewers thought the “awkward” exchange was hilarious.
“Bev’s just done the classic someone-has-cocked-up-at-work-and-you-accidentally-complain-to-the-person-who-cocked-up,” said one person on Twitter.
“Well that was awkward, to be fair to Bev I put my foot in it all the time,” said another.
One viewer quipped: “‘Hello, I want to report a murder’ Bev absolutely savaging Splash and Vernon’s just sat there.”
Another amused fan posted: “Calling it now: Beverley dragging Splash without realising Vernon hosted it is hands down funniest moment of the series.”
