Yahoo News Beverley Knight speaks out to deny lip-synching on Strictly Come Dancing

Beverley Knight has denied lip-synching on the Strictly Come Dancing results show on Sunday evening.
The Shoulda Woulda Coulda singer was the latest musical guest on the celebrity dance competition, performing I'm on Fire from her upcoming ninth album The Fifth Chapter.
And Knight, 50, spoke out to reveal she had in fact performed the song live twice in front of the studio audience, after producers requested a second take.

Musical theatre star Knight appeared on Strictly for the second time this series, having previously performed in week one.
She sang her latest track for the live studio audience during the results show while the contestants waited to hear who would be competing in the dance off.
She was accompanied by the London Community Gospel Choir and a dance interpretation form some of the Strictly professionals.
After comments were posted on social media observing that viewers believed Knight appeared to be miming, she was quick to shut them down.
The pop singer wrote on social media platform X, formerly Twitter: "Hello everyone who was watching #Strictly tonight! In the entirety of my career, I’ve never EVER mimed a note. Not once. The slay is real people, note for note."

The Strictly results show is filmed in front of a live studio audience on a Saturday night following the live dance show, and airs 'as live' on a Sunday evening.
If producers feel it is necessary parts of the show can be subjected to retakes for the final edit.

Knight also performed on the first Sunday Night Results show of the series during a dance medley in tribute to the late singer Tina Turner, alongside Strictly 2022 finalist Fleur East and Laura Mvula.
What else happened on Strictly?
Jody Cundy became the third celebrity contestant to be sent home from this year's competition.
The Paralympic gold medallist had finished bottom of Saturday night's leaderboard, scoring just 19 with his partner Jowita Przystal and he landed himself in the dreaded dance-off alongside radio presenter Eddie Kadi.
Both couples performed their dances again with Cundy going first, performing a Salsa to Samba de Janeiro by Bellin but the judges preferred Kandi's American Smooth to Sex Bomb by Tom Jones.
It was a unanimous decision among the judges over which couple to save with each of the four favouring Kadi.
Strictly Come Dancing airs/streams on BBC One on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
