Beyoncé Fights Back After She’s Accused Of ‘Stealing’ Lemonade Visuals

Beyoncé came along and got us royally shook when she dropped ‘Lemonade’ earlier this year – with it’s bangin’ tunes and incredible videos.

However, one person who wasn’t exactly shaking with joy was filmmaker Matthew Fulks, who ended up suing the star after he claimed her videos were far too similar to his short film, Palinoia.

Yep, we ain’t heard of it either, but Matthew claims that the videos share some stark similarities.

However, Beyoncé’s having none of it THANK YOU VERY MUCH, and on
Friday her presumably high-powered lawyers filed a legal motion that claimed the two films have absolutely diddly-squat to do with each other.

SO THERE, MATTHEW.

According to TMZ, the lawyers are urging the judge to throw the whole thing out of court. The motion read: “[A] straightforward comparison of the parties’ works provides a textbook example of what does not constitute a legally cognizable claim of infringement.“

"Palinoia is about a ‘tumultuous relationship’ that is now over. The protagonist is a white male and his former lover is a white blonde woman. The demise of their relationship is oblique, and is not tied to infidelity.”

Fulks is claiming an undisclosed amount of money for copyright infringement because of the similarities in mood, setting and, er, fonts.

He also claims that his films were shown to a large number of people at
Beyoncé’s record label.
