Beyonce and Jay-Z's favourite heart-shaped island that's perfect for day trips
Nestled off the Croatian coast lies Galesnjak Island, a unique heart-shaped isle that has captured the hearts of celebrities like Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Michael Jordan.
Dubbed 'Lover's Island', Galesnjak first came to prominence when Napoleon's cartographer Charles-Francois Beautemps-Beaupre charted its distinctive shape in his 1806 atlas of the Dalmatian coast.
Before Beautemps-Beaupre's discovery, little was known about the island's past, but it has since revealed three Illyrian burial mounds and remnants of an ancient structure.

Owned by the Juresko family, the island shot to fame in 2009 after Google Earth showcased its heart-like form, turning it into a magnet for celebrity visitors.
In light of the announcement that a section of Galesnjak is up for grabs at a cool $11 million, a spokesperson for the owners shared insights with Reuters on its star-studded guest list.
They revealed: "Beyonce had her 39th birthday party on the islet and she's there several days or even weeks every year, Michael Jordan was there last year, Jeff Bezos as well, there's no lack of celebrities in that area."
Despite lacking hotels or restaurants, A-listers are drawn to Galesnjak's secluded charm, often arriving by yacht for tranquil summer retreats away from the limelight.
Even if you're not part of the mega-rich with a personal yacht, you can still experience this geographical wonder. Daily tours depart from Tkon on Pasman Island to Galesnjak Island.
In addition, Galesnjak Island provides facilities for engagements and small wedding parties, offering a scenic and romantic setting for any couple's special day.
