Beyonce to miss Coachella festival 'on doctors' advice'

Beyonce has pulled out of this year's Coachella festival following advice from her doctors.

After being snubbed at Grammys earlier this month, losing out on the holy trinity of awards - album, record and song - to Adele, Beyonce will also miss one of the most important festivals of the year.

She was due to headline both weekends at the Californian event, but has cancelled her appearance, promising to return in 2018.

Beyonce's festival producer Goldenvoice said the singer had to pull out "following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months".

Beyonce was supposed to top the bill at Coachella, alongside big names like Radiohead and rapper Kendrick Lamar.

So far, no replacement for Beyonce has been announced.

The star, 35, and her husband, Jay Z, revealed in January they were expecting twins.

She posted an Instagram photo of her baby bump and said in the post: "We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over.

"We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes."

It quickly became the most liked Instagram post ever with 7.2 million likes.

The couple already have a five-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.
