BGT's Sydnie Christmas already had record deal, movie gig and E4 show before ITV fame

The Britain's Got Talent champion, Sydnie Christmas, delivered an emphatic performance of Over the Rainbow last night.

Brimming with talent, the 'novice' singer was a hit among judges and viewers alike - her superb vocals resonating with thousands who voted her as their 2024 winner. After winning, Sydnie enjoyed a low-key celebration at Wetherspoons with her friends.

Appearing on This Morning, she admitted that in the whirlwind few hours following her win, she hadn't yet checked her bank balance for signs of the £250,000 prize.

Despite the excitement surrounding her win, this isn't the festively-named star's first brush with fame.

At 28, the singer boasts a wealth of musical and acting experience - causing some viewers to suggest that BGT was "fixed as f*** as she's had a singing career before", reports the Mirror.

Born in Kent, Sydnie used to work at a gym reception when she made her debut on the ITV show, and she claims she 'didn't fit' in the world of showbiz amidst the backlash. Simon Cowell defended the talented performer, remarking: "You know what was interesting? I worked out, I don't think a single act tonight were professionals. They all had a regular job and they did something extraordinary."
