Billboard Music Awards 2016: Kesha Performs Stunning Bob Dylan Cover

Kesha’s Billboard Music Awards 2016 performance was in doubt just days before the ceremony, with Dr Luke’s Kemosabe label ‘blocking’ it after hearing rumours that she would use the stage to speak about her ongoing legal battle.

Thankfully, Kemosabe later decided to reinstate her performance, meaning we were treated to a stunning, emotional and powerful Bob Dylan cover from the ‘Tik Tok’ singer.

In her first televised performance amid her legal battle against Dr Luke, who she claims sexually, physically, verbally and emotionally abused her (he denies these allegations), Kesha performed Bob Dylan’s ‘It Ain’t Me Babe’.

The 29-year-old was joined by a violinist and Ben Folds on piano for their moving rendition.

She received a well-deserved standing ovation from the audience, with Twitter users also taking to social media to praise the star.

One tweeted: “What an emotional performance by @KeshaRose. So happy ur back in the light & showing everyone the incredible vocals you ALWAYS had #BBMAs [sic]”.

Another said: “Kesha’s voice is so light, beautiful, and pure. I’m so happy that she’s getting a chance to show her talent.”, while one added: “Look anyone brave enough to stand up on that stage knowing what she’s going through and knowing people doubt her truth - Kesha is everything”.

Congratulations on a gorgeous performance, Kesha.
