Bindi Irwin has shared a sweet tribute to her late dad, Steve Irwin, on Father’s Day in both the US and UK.

The 21-year-old uploaded a photo to her Instagram account, showing a smiling Steve looking delighted as he holds a tiny Bindi on his lap.

“You will always be my superhero,” she captioned the snap.

Bindi was just eight years old when Steve, also known as ‘The Crocodile Hunter’ passed away in 2006 after a stingray attack in Queensland.

Since then , Bindi has continued on her dad’s mission of conservation, working alongside her brother, mother and new husband Chandler Powell at Australia Zoo.

In March, Bindi made sure Steve was included in the ceremony when she walked down the aisle and married Chandler Powell.

"Where we got married was such a special place to dad. It's a beautiful little area where he had filmed for many years. It felt really wonderful and just meant to be,” Bindi told People magazine in an interview about her big day.

"We had dad's picture with his dog Sui blown up on an easel. So mom and Robert were standing right next to dad as we exchanged vows.

“We had a candle-lighting ceremony for him, and it really felt like he was there with us. It was a lovely moment of peace and happiness."

Back in September, Bindi reflected on her dad’s passing in a beautiful post to Instagram, 13 years after he passed away.

The image, which is from A A Milne’s famously poignant Winnie the Pooh, included a touching quote.

“If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart I’ll stay there forever,” the image reads.
