If you've been thinking of going to Asha's, the Indian restaurant where Tom Cruise famously had two tikkas, where Pink had the 'best Indian food of her life' and where Jack Black got butter chicken for lunch but you don't want to cheat on your favourite curry house, there's a guilt-free option you're not going to want to miss.

Asha's, one of two Birmingham Indian restaurants on the Michelin Guide, has been a favourite of celebrities when they visit the city, with everyone from the Rolling Stones to Ed Sheeran popping in to taste the wicked food. Now Asha's has launched afternoon tea so Brummies can get a flavour of their fine fare without committing to a curry night.

As of Saturday, June 1, you can enjoy Afternoon Tea at Ashas, an 'Indian-inspired twist on the elegant and refined ritual'. The £34.75 experience (or £39.75 with prosecco) features a number of sandwiches with exciting fillings, savoury treats, sweets, cakes and scones.

Some customers have already reacted to the news on the restaurant's Instagram with Harkamal Farooqui saying: "Sooo excited" and Lisa Large wrote: "This is a must."

The tea starts with a dahi puri shot and then there are a range of sandwiches for meat-lovers and vegetarians. Fillings include chicken malai and lamb raan with snacks of prawn toast with keema and egg puffs.

Veggie diners get vegetable cutlets, Bombay sandwiches, mini mushroom kurkure and halloumi puffs. Sweets for all include macaroons, white chocolate and raspberry cake, barfi, mango and passionfruit cheesecake and scones with clotted cream and jam.

There's a range of tasty teas on the menu too, including Tandoori masala chai, butterfly and pea tea, an apple and pear iced tea and a strawberry and peach mint tea. Regular teas and coffees are available, if you're going traditional.

Asha's says that its afternoon tea offering will run from 12pm until 4pm on Saturday and Sundays.
