Jack Black certainly seemed to make the most of his time in Birmingham yesterday, surprising fans as he explored the city. The star was in town on tour with Kyle Gass for a run of sold-out Tenacious D shows, performing at Resorts World Arena last night, May 7.

In the morning, the singer, comedian and Hollywood actor was snapped with a fan outside Poundland, where he jokingly demanded a Wolverhampton dad-of-two hand over his house keys and wallet as well as the phone on which they were taking a selfie.

Then later on, before returning to the Arena to start the show, Jack and a group of fellow diners headed to Birmingham's celebrity dining haunt Asha's for a curry. Jack Black joins the likes of Tom 'Two Tikkas' Cruise and singer Pink to have visited Asha's while in Birmingham, with the latter shouting them out at her Villa Park concert, saying they gave her the 'best Indian of her life'.

Asha's told BirminghamLive: "Jack was lovely. He ordered butter chicken for himself and shared a selection of dishes with a big group of seven people. He complimented the food and chatted to lots of fans.

"He even sang 'Happy Birthday' to a little boy's dad after he told Jack they were celebrating."

Asha's shared a photo of Jack wearing a bright, phoenix-design tie dye shirt and equally vivid shorts between two members of the Asha's team. They captioned it: "What a treat it was to welcome the legendary Jack Black to Asha's yesterday! Jack is one half of the incredible Tenacious D but you will also know and love him from global blockbusters like The Holiday and School Of Rock.
