Yahoo News Blake Lively Wears Shimmery Blue Minidress With Floor-Length Denim Coat
On Friday night, Blake Lively was in New York City in a bright blue ensemble that sparkled like early summer. The Gossip Girl star wore a shimmering blue minidress under a floor-length denim coat. She was carrying a matching oval shaped purse over one shoulder, and wore a gold chain link necklace and chunky gold rings.
Lively’s long blonde hair was down in beachy waves and she was walking in a pair of open-toe heels. She had on a glowing natural makeup palette and was accompanied by her friend Isabela Ferrer.
Lively has been traveling a lot to promote her new film It Ends With Us, adapted from the popular novel by Colleen Hoover. Set for release on August 9, she stars in the film with Justin Baldoni and Jenny Slate.
At Book Bonanza, Lively told Entertainment Tonight, “Some people will always like a book better than a movie and some people like a movie better than the book. But I think that we just did our best to honor the book and honor the fans, and, I think, really make something that works even by itself.”
She continued, “If you don’t know the book, the movie works. I don’t think there’s any way that if you read the book and you saw the movie that you wouldn’t be thrilled. We really worked hard on that. I also believe if you saw the movie and then read the book, you wouldn’t go, ‘Hold on, this isn‘t like [the other].’ You can do either. I think they’re both really beautiful. I watched it for the first time with my mother, who inspired the story, so words can’t express how amazing this whole experience is.”
But Lively is a big fan of the book.
“This story resonated with so many people, so there’s a great responsibility that comes with that,” she said of the original story. “You want to honor this book and this character that people love so much, but you also want to bring a life and a humanity to it that is true to who you are. It‘s a lot of different things that you want to accomplish in this story.”
