Blue Lights is back on our screens and the team has a whole new set of problems to face.

Series 2 of the BBC police drama set and filmed in Northern Ireland is now available to watch on BBC iPlayer in full and the first series will air at 9pm on April 15.

With new faces, new heart-racing situations and the same old Belfast, there is one face that will be sorely missed in Blue Lights 2.

Gerry Cliff became a fan favourite from the launch of Blue Lights last year - from Richard Dormer's superb acting to his hilarious one-liners and powerful storylines, he was one of the reasons the series was a hit.

So his death in the second half of the first series came as a shock to many fans who took to social media to beg creators to take it all back (unfortunately not going to happen...)

In episode five, we see Gerry taking Jen under his wing as they are partnered for patrol.

Despite Jen doing all she could throughout the series to avoid having to actually hit the streets, she is forced out on the ride along and Gerry being Gerry, is able to show her more human side.

After being tipped off about Dublin registration plates being spotted nearby, Gerry decides to check it out with Jen in tow.

Mo McIntrye is up to his dodgy dealings with the Dublin crime gang when Gerry is shot multiple times by Sully, ultimately causing his tragic death.

Jen steps up, shooting Sully while coming to Gerry's defence however despite tending for him in his last moments, he later dies.
