Bluey goes on a hand-drawn adventure in exclusive season 3 clip

Ten new episodes of the smash hit Australian animation will hit Disney+ on 12 January

Watch: Bluey, Bingo, Bandit and Chilli face a dragon in this exclusive new clip

Parents, families, and the young at heart rejoice: Ten new episodes of the award-winning animation Bluey will be released on Disney+ on Friday, 12 January... for real life!

After Yahoo UK named Bluey one of the best TV shows of 2023, we're thrilled to share a brand new clip from one of the new episodes called Dragons.

The clip shows the Blue Heeler family sitting around their table creating their own hand-drawn adventure, featuring a giant dragon, which quickly becomes Humpty Dumpty when Bluey becomes unhappy with her drawing of a dragon.

Featuring the show's own-brand of relatable family humour, the clip serves as a great teaser for the upcoming new episodes.

What is Bluey?

Bluey is a 2D animated Australian series, aimed at preschoolers, that centres around a family of suburban Blue Heeler dogs: parents Bandit and Chilli, and their two playful daughters Bluey (6-7) and Bingo (4-5). There are a host of recurring supporting characters too, ranging from Bluey's relatives and school friends, to neighbours and family acquaintances.

It's beloved by kids and parents alike for its relatable and modern look at family dynamics, inter-personal relationships, and the imaginative world of play the family occupies, but also for the pathos and emotion the show mines during each episode's relatively short run time.

The show has gained a huge following globally, and was 2023’s #1 most-watched series for preschoolers and kids in the US. This popularity has led to the show having cameo appearances from Hollywood stars such as Natalie Portman and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Created by Joe Brumm, the series is produced by Ludo Studios in Australia, and is a co-production between ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) and the BBC. It airs in the UK on the BBC, and also streams on Disney+ where the latest episodes exclusively premiere first. Internationally the show airs on Disney Jr.

There have been three seasons of the show since it started in 2018 and the 50-episode third season of Bluey is being released in several parts, with the last new set of episodes hitting Disney+ in the UK in July 2023.

Following the January Disney+ premiere, the new episodes will air on Disney Channel and Disney Junior in territories around the world later in 2024.

Also later in 2024, Disney+ viewers have even more new Bluey to look forward to, when the previously announced first-ever Bluey special, “The Sign,” premieres on ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) in Australia and globally on Disney+ later in 2024.

All-new episodes of Bluey land on Disney+ Friday, 12 January.
