Bobby Brazier has revealed details of Laila Morse's return to EastEnders as Big Mo, telling how they filmed a special episode together that will be available on TikTok.
EastEnders has been welcoming back many a fan favourite over the last year, and the latest star to rejoin the cast is Laila Morse as Big Mo.
Brazier, who is also returning to his role as her great-grandson Freddie Slater after time off for the Strictly Come Dancing live tour, told The One Show how much he had loved acting alongside Morse who plays his character Freddie Slater's great-grandmother. He was delighted that their acting styles matched up perfectly.
What, how and why?
He said of Morse: "She is - I don't want to say a handful, she's great, she's a bundle of energy."
As host Jermaine Jenas pointed out he had just called her a handful, Brazier said: "But me too, which is why I like working with her, we bring out something good in each other."
Brazier also said that they had similar acting styles, explaining: "I like to freestyle my lines and we don't always get away with that, but she does because she's just known for that so whenever I'm on set with her I know that I can take the mickey."
As Jenas told him he sounded confident in his role, Brazier replied: "Maybe it's less of a confidence thing and more of a 'I haven't learnt my lines' thing."
The actor also spoke about an episode featuring Freddie and Big Mo that has been filmed for TikTok, in a soap first. He said: "I guess it's an insight to Freddie and Mo living together in a caravan and I'm playing pranks on her and just doing the kind of silly stuff that Freddie would do with his great-grandmother. It was a really funny day."
What else happened on The One Show?
He also spoke about his upcoming debut appearance in Soccer Aid and how dad Jeff Brazier has been helping him train.
For this year's Soccer Aid, he will be playing on the celebrity England team for the first time at the charity match. The actor has been getting some top tips from his dad Jeff Brazier, who was a footballer in the 90s and early 00s.
Asked if there had been a bit of pressure from him in training, Brazier said: "Not even a bit. Major pressure. He's doing everything he can to get me in the gym and get me to 5-a-side and I think he's just trying to live through me."
Brazier added: "Growing up, he was always our coach."
He was joined on the One Show sofa by Rebel Wilson, who said she had been following the Australian women's team the Matildas and was planning on watching them at the Paris Olympics. She also admitted to being a fan of documentary Welcome to Wrexham about Ryan Reynolds' UK football venture.
The One Show airs on BBC One at 7pm on weekdays.
