Body found in Manchester by police searching for missing man

A body has been found in Manchester by police searching for a missing man, it was confirmed today.

Joseph Weech, 25, was reported as missing from the Bierley area of Bradford at around lunchtime on Saturday. West Yorkshire Police said at the time they were concerned for his welfare.

A description of Mr Weech was issued and the force confirmed he had links to both north and south Wales, in particular Aberystwyth.

In a statement today, West Yorkshire Police said police searching for him have found a body in Manchester. No location was given. His family has been informed, although formal identification has not yet taken place.

In a statement, West Yorkshire Police said: "Police searching for missing man Joseph Weech in Bradford have found a body in Manchester.

"Although formal identification hasn’t taken place, his family have been informed.

"Enquiries are ongoing but at this stage his death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course." No further details have been revealed.
