Body found in search for missing man

Police have confirmed that a body has been found in the search for a missing man in Ceredigion. A missing person alert had been issued after 65-year-old Michael went missing in the New Quay area on Sunday.

Officers from Dyfed Powys Police said he was believed to be in the New Quay or Ceredigion area. On Thursday evening, a spokesperson for the force said: "In relation to missing person Michael in the Cardigan area, sadly, we can confirm a body has been found in the search for Michael."

They added: "His next of kin have been informed, and our thoughts are with the family." Tributes have been paid on social media with one saying: "RIP Michael so very sad sending my condolences to you all at this sad time." Another said: "Heartfelt condolences go out to all his family and friends."
