New bouldering centre with over 100 metres of climbing wall opens

A new climbing centre with indoor climbing walls for all levels has opened in Oxford.

Gallery Bouldering at Marston Street has more than 100 metres of bouldering wall with problems for beginners to expert level, a “real” rock wall and autobelays and the world’s first hydraulic Moonboard, which can be set at anything from 25° to 40°.

There is also a gym with a bench and squat rack, kettles, dumbbells, dip station, pull-up bars, stall bars, rings, wooden hang grips, an assault bike and a dual cable machine.

Jericho Coffee Traders has opened a new cafe at the centre serving speciality coffees, cakes, pastries, pizzas and beer above the climbing on the mezzanine, with light, space and plug sockets.

The coffee company, which has a flagship cafe on Oxford High Street, a cafe and roastery on the Osney Mead industrial estate and another cafe at Oxford Castle, has applied for an alcohol licence.
