The former Jungle Mania site in Bourne End will be transformed after a planning application was approved by Buckinghamshire Council.

Planning officers said Glen House Estates Limited could use the vacant Unit 8 of the Wessex Road Industrial Estate for ‘industrial processes, general industrial or storage or distribution use’.

The former soft play area, which included ball pits, football pitches and large slides, vacated the site in February of this year ahead of Jungle Mania’s new opening in High Wycombe’s Eden Centre.

Glen House Estates Limited said its approved plan for the site would cover a ‘range of employment uses’ and that it would ‘open the building to a wider range of businesses on the market’.

Its application read: “The unit will also bring a number of employment opportunities and provide for the creation of a number of new jobs.

“The applicant has already had a significant amount of interest in the proposed unit, which will be within business uses and will be ideal for this location.”

No external alterations are proposed to the building, while parking for the unit will remain as existing with a total of 18 spaces located to the front, side and rear of the existing unit.

There is also planned provision for cycle parking, which will be within the wider site and ‘secure and covered’.
