Boy, 11, hospitalised after being hit by van in Wigston

An 11-year-old boy was hospitalised after being hit by a van in Wigston yesterday (Monday, May 21). Leicestershire Police said the pedestrian suffered an injury to his leg after the incident in Moat Street.

The force said it was called to the scene at 3.18pm following the collision. A number of roads were closed in the area including Moat Street, Long Street and Horsewell Lane.

It added that Moat Street was reopened shortly after 7pm. Anyone with information relating to the incident is being asked to report it on the force’s website or to call 101, quoting incident number 431 of 20 May.
